5 Signs Your Car Needs Paint Correction, Not Just a Wash

Washing removes what sits on the paint. Correction fixes the paint itself. These five symptoms mean another wash will not help.
1. Spider-web swirls under direct sunlight
Circular scratch patterns that appear when sunlight hits the panel are wash-induced marring. They are physical defects in the clear coat and only machine polishing removes them.
2. The paint feels rough after washing
Run a clean hand over a washed panel. Grittiness means bonded contamination — industrial fallout, rail dust or overspray — that needs chemical decontamination and clay before polishing.
3. Etched water spots that will not wipe off
Mineral deposits baked by Qatar's sun etch into the clear coat. Once they leave a visible crater outline, polishing is the only permanent fix.
4. Faded, chalky or hazy colour
Oxidation dulls the top microns of clear coat. A compound and polish cuts back to fresh, clear resin and colour depth returns dramatically.
5. Buffer trails or holograms from a previous shop
Straight, repeating haze lines mean someone polished with the wrong pad, product or technique. A proper multi-stage refinement removes them completely.
